Coleman Mach 13,500 AC in 06 Jayco 23FB
We just returned from a great four day trip in our Jayco 23FB. It was only our second trip. We bought this TT used a couple of months ago. Anyway, while the AC works great and we keep it set at 75 degrees, it seems to run wayyyyyy too much. I actually timed it and it turns on and runs for about 4 minutes, shuts down for about 4 minutes, and then kicks on again for 4-6 minutes. This seems to be continuous throughout the day but I don't know about at night (since I was sleeping : ) ) One important point, there wasn't any shade at our site and the temperature averaged about 90 degrees every day. Is this the norm? Or will this cause the AC to overheat from the constant on and off? Thanks for any help you can offer.

RE: 1st Timer w/? & Pets TT or Toy Hauler??
Hi Susan: We are also middle aged adults who travel with our two babies (dogs). We went back and forth about TT vs toy hauler since we have ATVs. We travel to Ocala National Forest to ride about once every other month and always stayed in a cabin. Well, we bought a TT and decided to separate camping vs ATV riding. Here's why (for us as ATVers): Unless you are camping where you will be unloading your toys, you will have to disconnect your sewer, water, electric to drive to the trailhead or wherever to drop off your toys. You will then be leaving your "home" with all of your belongings in a parking lot all day where people know you are gone all day. I also did not like the idea of having all of our ATV stuff (extra gas, tools, etc.) in my "kitchen". There are fumes, mud etc. after riding and you have to haul them back to the campground. Finally, you give up a lot of comfortable living space going from a TT to a toy hauler. Toy haulers usually have much smaller kitchens, couches, etc and are quite heavier to pull. These are just a few things you might want to consider. See you out and about in Florida.
